Shadow Patters
2001

This short video work layers images of war with shifting colors and natural forms. A distant rattle of machine guns and artillery set the soft and subtle images in an ironic yet meditative context. As with most of my work, this piece is an attempt so discover where formal notions of beauty meet some of the harsher realities we so painstakingly attempt to ignore.

The Sun
Scratch, 16mm

This is my motif. I come to it again and again for I know that my distant ancestors watched the sun rise and marveled as I do now. And I know that in the distant future the descendents of my children’s children will also look out in the stillness of the morning watching the same sun emerge.
